In its first year the WPGA Melbourne International will be the richest professional golf event hosted in Metropolitan Melbourne and the 6th richest Women's professional golf event in Australia. We have a view in the coming years to increase this to prizemoney to in excess of $100,000 becoming a marquee Australian women's sporting event.

There is currently in excess of 90 professional golf tournaments for men and less for 20 women per year. We looking to looking to be part of the solution in bridging the cap in gender equity with our new event.

The event is aimed to be a festival of golf and is about more than just the event itself, it's about presenting the opportunity to women looking to start the game of golf. It provides a platform to promote the opportunities within our club, this includes our golf development offerings.

Including but not limited to the Australian wide recognised Swing Fit programs, 5 hole course specifically designed for golf development and 18 hole course. Free clinics and access to our 5 hole course will be available for women and juniors throughout the entirety of the event.

The WPGA Melbourne International is fully endorsed by Golf Australia and WPGA (Women's Professional Golf Association) Tour of Australasia and we have received financial support from Vic Health and the Victorian State Government for this event.
