Sponsorship Benefits
Run Melbourne is fast approaching and with more participants, fundraising and volunteers expected this year, it is set to be bigger and better than before!
A big thank you to everyone who volunteered at Run Melbourne 2015. If you missed out, now is your chance to be a part of this great event and get some hands on experience at one of Victoria's biggest running events!
Last year, more than 400 volunteers helped Run Melbourne participants to cross the finish line and achieve their goals. You don't have to be a runner or walker to be part of Run Melbourne. No special skills, experience or training is required; just your enthusiasm and willingness to help! Volunteering is a great way to meet people, gain new skills, and have fun being part of a team. Without our dedicated team of volunteers, Run Melbourne would not be possible!
Volunteer roles are available from Thursday, July 21 through to the main event day on Sunday, July 24. Roles include course drink station attendants, handing out showbags and sponsor products, presenting participants with their medallions at the finish line, assisting with participant registrations, collecting timing chips, start line/course marshalling and assisting at the Expo on the days prior to the main event day.
Event Details
One of the best fund-raising events in the city, Run Melbourne includes a 5km walk, 10km run and a challenging half-marathon. Participants are advised to arrive at the Event Village (Fed Square) at least 45 minutes before the start of their wave. The half marathon will start at 7am, the 10km will start at 9:15am and the 5km will start at 10:30am.
The starting point for the races is as follows: half-marathon: corner of Elizabeth St and Flinders St and the 10km and 5km: at the intersection of St Kilda Road and just south of Linlithgow Avenue.
There is no specific charity nominated for the event, instead, all participants and sponsors are offered the choice from a list of 450 charities in Melbourne. Over the course of previous year's events, a number of local charities and communities have benefited immensely, as well as more than thousands of children and families.
