With 160 tables of books up for sale Lifeline Bookfest is the biggest fundraising event for Lifeline services including the 24-hour Lifeline 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line.
Lifeline Bookfest Organiser Melissa Keary said the goal for the event is to raise much-needed funds for Lifeline Crisis Support with help from the invaluable Bookfest volunteers.
"We are immensely grateful for the 50-plus volunteers who have dedicated their time to help us set up, sort, stack and pack ahead of this weekend's event," Ms Keary said.
More than 2600 calls are made by Queenslanders each day to Lifeline and by bringing along a bag or market trolley to this year's event, Sunshine Coast book worms can grab a bargain from the thousands of books on sale and contribute to bettering the lives of others.
"We are expecting a great turn out for this year's second Bookfest event, and I encourage customers to get in early and come prepared with comfy shoes and a bag or three," said Ms Keary.
"Everyone should experience a Lifeline Bookfest because no Bookfest is the same and you never know what treasures you might find. With prices as low as a $1, we guarantee the best bargains in
town."
Sunshine Coast residents still have time to donate their pre-owned books by visiting Lifeline in Bokarina.
