The popular 'Just Tri It' series gives first timers and seasoned triathletes the opportunity to come together to compete and to show support for each other. There are plenty of first timers wanting to 'just tri it' and just as many seasoned athletes looking to work on their speed. The series includes short and long course distances for individuals and teams.
The triathlon event commences with a swim followed by a run and then cycle with two distance options for adults 300m/10k/3k (Just Tri It) and 600m/20k/6k (Doin' It Already). The popular series also includes two kids' races with 7 to 9 year olds invited to compete in 100m/3k/500m and 10 to 12 years eligible for 200m/6k/1k distances.
Caloundra Community Bank® Branch Manager, Pip Fawcett, is encouraging of everyone to give it a try: "This is such a great event and one we look forward to every year. It's a total team effort by our branch from running the BBQ to being race marshals and competing in the Tri. With the new Helloworld Business Teams Challenge category this year, we're hoping it produces some good, fun competition."
Race Director, Rick Shambrook, said the partnership with the Caloundra Community Bank® Branch team has helped significantly to sustain the event over a number of years.
"The Caloundra Community Bank® branch of Bendigo Bank have been huge supporters of this event over the years. This is my first year as Race Director so we're just getting to know the team but we're so thankful for their ongoing financial assistance. It says so much about the event, that it attracts such great support from the community," Mr Shambrook said.
