The Ginger Factory Celebrate the 20th year of Ginger Flower & Food Festival
For 20 years, the Ginger Flower and Food Festival has brought together the best of the Sunshine Coast talent and national guests to delight green thumb enthusiasts and foodies from across Australia, with cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs, garden tours and tips, plus lifestyle workshops.
The 20th anniversary program is already brimming with talent, including celebrity chef Matt Golinski, who will tantalise the taste buds with his cooking demonstrations along with one of Australia's leading gluten free chefs and author, Monica Topliss, who will use her skills and experience to create innovative gluten free recipes.
Employed at The Ginger Factory for the past 22 years, Assistant Manager Carolyn Exelby has seen the events popularity increase year on year. "What started as a celebration of Ginger and Heliconia plants, has grown to include an exciting food component," she said.
"Cooking and foodie experiences are now considered to be an integral part of the festival, reflecting the Sunshine Coast as a premier food destination. It gives us the opportunity to bring together rich talent from across the Sunshine Coast," added Mrs Exelby.
With a unique spin on previous years, this festival will give visitors the opportunity to learn about a magnificent range of ornamental Gingers and Heliconias, which will turn any sized garden into a feast of vibrant colour.
Mrs Exelby explains that this year's festival will demonstrate how these beautiful plants can be used to create a special space in any garden. "This year, we will show visitors how easy it is to add colour, variety and personality to any sized garden using ornamental Gingers and Heliconias," she said.
