With a rich history and heritage built by the women and men on the land, the ABCRA is Australia's largest rodeo, campdraft, and equine challenge organisation formed in 1946. Its affiliated clubs and associations conduct more than 500 events annually across the country, attracting thousands of competitors and fans alike and injecting over $1.7M into local communities.

The National Final event series is a showcase of the athletic talents of the country's best rodeo and campdraft sportspeople from these events and is held in the capital of country, Tamworth NSW.

During the National Finals series, fans experience exhilarating live equine sporting action with Australia's best competitors, live country music entertainment, a trader's alley, and plenty of activities, and we would be keen to discuss whether sponsor interest in coming on board as a partner of the ABCRA and its National Finals series in 2022/23 and possibly beyond, and connecting the adventurous spirit of our competitors with your brand.

The sports of Campdrafting and Roughriding in Australia were born in the bush. Men of the country pitted their riding skills and horseflesh against one another … as entertainment in harsh conditions. Stock "camped" for the night, were "drafted" to demonstrate who was the superior horseman and who had the best horses. From this simple beginning, the uniquely Australian sport of "Campdrafting" developed.

Although the typical competition is likely to have a direct association with the land, the increasing profile of rodeo and Campdrafting, now sees competitors from all walks of life.

What will never change is the family appeal; both in spectating and competing, the ABCRA actively encourages novice and junior competitors in both rodeos and Campdrafts.

The ABCRA conducts a point scoring system to determine National Champions, which does not discriminate against less financial committees and puts the emphasis on sportsmanship and consistent competition. Results from all affiliated committees are sent to Head Office where the points are recorded to five places for each member. From this recording system, the National High Point Standings are computed.

The Rodeo National Finals held in January 2023, are a key feature on the Tamworth Country Music Festival program.

With a lucrative prize pool on offer, the National Finals will be held at the state of the art Australian Equine and Livestock Event Centre, bringing in around 10,000 spectators and 3,000 competitors and officials. As well as attracting the country's top-level competitors, the National Finals will focus to encourage and foster new fans of the sport and industry, by showcasing the skills and athleticism of both male and female competitors, and creating youth development initiatives.

The Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) is a non-profit equine sporting organisation, that was formed in 1946. The Association has been part of the Australian rodeo and campdraft industry and the rural community for over seven decades, in many cases paving the way for the continued growth of the sports.

The ABCRA strives to be the leading organisation for campdrafting, rodeo and other sports involving horsemanship in Australia and it has a rich history founded on the principles of tradition, pride and spirit. The Association has grown to be Australia's only and largest organisation administering the sports of campdrafting and rodeo under one entity.
